Job Description (Briefly describe job duties, required skills, and qualifications.) SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring maximum uptime for production equipment while also maintaining the safety and functionality of the company’s vehicle fleet. This role involves proactive preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and performing repairs on both production lines (CNC machines, edgebanders, saws, etc.) and delivery vehicles. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES (duties include but are not limited to the following)

1. Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance (60-70%)
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on cabinet production machinery (e.g., CNC machines, edgebanders, saws, boring machines, dust collection systems, compressors, and other woodworking equipment)
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems issues
• Respond immediately to production downtime events to minimize workflow interruptions
• Install, calibrate, and test new manufacturing equipment
• Maintain accurate maintenance records/logs, and keep schedules up to date
• Coordinate outside service vendors when needed  

2. Fleet Maintenance (30-40%)
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on company vehicles, including box trucks, delivery vans, and forklifts
• Track oil changes, inspections, and service intervals
• Identify and address issues before they become major repairs 
• Ensure all fleet vehicles are compliant with DOT safety regulations and maintain documentation 

3. Facility & General Maintenance (As Needed)
• Perform basic facility repairs including lighting, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Maintain and clean shop tools, equipment, and work areas
• Assist with facility upgrades or structural repairs 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems (3-phase), hydraulics, pneumatics, and motor controls

• Fleet Proficiency: Experience with gas/diesel engine maintenance, suspension, and brake systems
• Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic skills to identify root causes of equipment and vehicle failures
• Technical Documentation: Ability to read and interpret machine manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics
• Tool Proficiency: Skillful operation of power tools, hand tools, welders, and diagnostic equipment
• Safety Focus: Strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA safety protocols
• Communication: Ability to communicate with production operators and fleet drivers to diagnose issues 
Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance or automotive technology, preferred
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance, preferred
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in fleet maintenance (trucks/forklifts)
• Valid Driver’s License required; CDL Class B or higher is a strong plus 

Physical Demands & Working Environment
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and crawl for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or on call, when necessary for machine downtime
